Leicester visitor information

It should be understood that the university halls are designed primarily for students: not children or for adults expecting a high level of luxury. However, with this in mind, the halls do meet level of comfort that we expect most visitors to be happy with, and we will welcome any feedback where this is not the case.

Dates of Leicester's academic vacations

Rooms are mainly available during the academic vacations.

Easter: mid-March to mid-April
Summer 2009: mid-June to late-September
Christmas: mid-December to mid-January

Getting to Leicester

By Road
Leicester lies on the M1 which carries road traffic from London to Leeds and the North. East to West it is served by the M69 which connects to and from the M6. Several major trunks roads connect Leicester to surrounding counties. Leicester is on Junctions 21 (south of city), 21A and 22 (north of city) of the M1 motorway.

By Air
The nearest public airport to Leicester is Nottingham East Midlands Airport. There is no direct rail link from the airport to Leicester: we would therefore recommend using a coach or taxi. http://www.eastmidlandsairport.com

By Rail
